Pole Tip for Anglers

Having been a keen angler for many years, nothing gives me more satisfaction than coming up with ideas to make fishing easier or help to put more fish on the bank.
Over the last few months I have been fortunate to have been featured in the Angling Times, once in an article about my fishing related inventions and more recently a feature dedicated to one in particular, the Pole Tip.

The Pole Tip is a method of attaching a tip to a pole whilst allowing the elastic to pass through it.
This allows a hands free method of fishing and is particularly effective fishing up in the water, even at depths as little as an inch.

Bogus Day Tickets Warning

There have been reports of members being asked for payment for day tickets and being harassed while legitimately fishing club waters.

As we do not issue Day Tickets this is obviously a fraudulent act on someone’s behalf.

Should any member find themselves in this situation they should contact the Secretary at the earliest opportunity or report the circumstances by email to phil.harrison@drac.org.uk

Car Parking at Shardlow

Members are reminded that when fishing the A6 section of the Trent at Shardlow (Concrete Apron, below A6 bridge etc) that cars must be parked in the authorised DRAC carpark and under no circumstances be parked on the road leading to the Marina.

Opening Match 02/06/08

Congratulations to Nigel Smith who won Opening Match with a beautiful 13lb 9oz common carp from the Trent at Shardlow.

This 20 peg match was made extremely difficult by a strong blustery wind, most entrants caught fish which were generally small roach, perch, bleak and chub plus a couple of small barbel.
