Glazebrooks
Pool
This mature fishery created from old gravel
workings that were completed over twenty years ago.
The club acquired the pool seven years ago, during
the intervening years the pool and its surroundings
had been left to nature, which has now created an
attractive fishery. The pool is two acres and has
several small islands. The depth varies greatly
from peg to peg some areas 3-4ft others 12-15ft.
The pool holds perch, roach, rudd, bream (6-7lbs
not uncommon) and carp into the high teens as well
as a good head tench to 5lb plus. The pool is
situated next to Cullens Pool and access is the
same with parking behind most pegs. We have plans
to carryout further development of this fishery in
partnership with the Environment Agency. As part of
their River Trent project they are linking pools
and lakes into the Trent to create Fish spawning
areas and refuges during the winter floods. This
will benefit both the fishing in the pool and the
river and should create a great winter fishery when
the Trent is carrying extra water.
